Rock Castle

Rock Castle opens the gates to the heavier territories of Sound of Prog. Your host – or, more appropriately, Lord of the Castle – Erich Robbers aka Kerbinator – guides you through Rock, Hard Rock, Progressive Metal, Heavy Metal and their various relatives, featuring familiar names alongside bands and releases that deserve considerably more attention.

And our Lord does, in fact, have another castle. Erich is the man behind the German online music magazine Rock Castle Franken ( https://www.rockcastlefranken.de/ ), where he covers the Rock and Metal world through reviews, interviews, live reports, news and plenty more. He therefore actually knows what he is talking about – something which, remarkably, is still not a legal requirement for presenting a radio show.

Erich brings all of that experience into Rock Castle, where new releases meet personal favourites, discoveries and occasional expeditions into those Metal subgenres whose complete classification would probably require several monks and a very large piece of parchment.

Inside Rock Castle, the Lord himself decides what is allowed through the gates. The house rules are reassuringly simple: guitars are extremely welcome, musical blinkers are to be left outside, and boring music may be thrown from the battlements without prior notice. The drawbridge is down. The amplifiers are on. The Lord of the Castle awaits you. Welcome to Rock Castle!
