Tales from the Tiger Moth

On Tales from the Tiger Moth, Pete Jones takes over the microphone – multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and the creative force behind Tiger Moth Tales. So Progressive Rock isn’t merely played here; it’s presented by someone who knows rather well what it feels like to be on the other side of the speakers making the stuff.

Pete takes you on a journey through classic and modern Prog, personal favourites, new discoveries and musical surprises. His own interpretations and cover versions also make regular appearances – sometimes spontaneously and acoustically. Apparently, simply playing records isn’t quite enough for Pete. Every now and then, he feels obliged to play the music himself as well.

The show thrives on Pete’s particular combination of musical knowledge, stories, spontaneity and distinctly British humour. Serious enthusiasm for Progressive Rock regularly collides with complete nonsense – a combination that Sound of Prog supports for fairly obvious reasons.

Tales from the Tiger Moth is therefore rather more than an ordinary radio show. It’s a musical expedition through Pete’s own wonderfully peculiar Prog universe. Please keep your arms and legs inside the Moth at all times.
